The idea that ANet is greedy by constantly forcing out new content regardless of its impact or quality is a pretty old one, and one that ANet hopefully has noticed (everyone else has, after all).

And ffs people, this is not an open letter omg lol because it's not actually written to anyone, but a different format for raising criticism. Do you not think before you post on the bandwagon? Is there any point in me telling you, if you can't see it yourself?

Most of these skills have made gvg worse. Disarm was op, Glyph Immo is pretty op, especially with steam. Anthem of Weariness was op. Smiter's Boon and many other monk skills just make playing defense so much easier. Foul Feast is too good too.

GWEN sure added a lot to the game. You're right, my statement that it had no bearing on pvp was incorrect. It did have an effect. A negative one imo.

Another divorce thread..

Whatever happened to playing as many games as one likes at any given time? Or simply putting the "cartidge" in the back of the case when you're bored, instead of writing it a Dear John?

Gamers are meant to be polygamists! You should be having multiple partners on a regular basis and be guilt free!

Gamer polygamy FTW. even though GW:Prophecies will always be my first love when it comes to GW. I have no problem loving that lil skank they call NF.

Prophesies is home.
Factions I did not like at first...but now, I have a blast there. I can charge through that and have a good time doing so. But once again Prohesies is home.
Nightfall....I so looked forward to that...and as very dissapointed. Still am dissapointed. The island is just a pain and takes to long to get off, the missions are to long and to far in between. But it did bring me back to prophesies...and i thank Nightfall for that and for heros.
GWEN...only good thing to come out of gwen are the dungeons. But once again...the ones i like most are so far from any outpost, that by the time i get to the dungeon, I no longer have time to do the whole dungeon. (catacombs of kathandrax.my favorite)....SO im back to home base - prophesies. with a bit of traveling in factions.

Seriously? Changing the items in the game to make it easier to get perfect weapons ruined your economy, did it? You still have the noninscriptable weapons, which go for ludicris amounts of money, so lighten up. That wasn't nearly the worst they did.

Would have been better if these skills weren't used at all? Because that is what you are suggesting. Smiter's Boon and the other smiting skills are what made Smiting actually playable in high-end PvP (except things like Smiteball that got nerfed quickly). Saying that a under-represented and under-appreciated attribute that for the longest time was forgotten and is now finally in use is negative is exactly the opposite to what Izzy and many others would think. Those skills are some of the most thought-out skills ever put in this game, period. I commend Izzy/whoever made the skills for making an attribute line playable again. Now only if he did that with Communing .

Long missions in NF? Maybe because you actually had to play them. Prophecies missions were a bitch to play, often taking longer than 45 min and there were 25 of them. You must skip a lot of the storyline/missions to play Prophecies regularly.

Guild Wars I think had one of the best beginnings of any game I've played. No, it's quite on the level of Morrowind and such, but it was still so wonderful when I was first exploring. Now, so many hours later, all the exploration is over. Somehow feels less, now. I'll never reclaim the feeling of that first character in pre-searing, that first arrival in Cantha. That sense of wonder as I explored new places was one of my favourite things about Guild Wars.

Dear Guild Wars,

I found you late in life. You were the handsome knight in shining armor come to rescue the princess. You took me to faraway lands I would never imagine. You made me look at the world through many different eyes and showed me that there were many ways to solve the same problem. You showed me that life is not static and change is a part of life. You invited me to your party and made your friends mine.

Yet, as I lived with you I found that there is a dark side too. That some of your friends don't like what I like and some of them are just plain evil. I found that there were parts of you that I liked better than others. That there were times I tired of you, that I looked for more. I think you could be better and should strive to make the world a better place. I think that even you need new horizons, and need to find new places to explore. That you should not try and put me in a box and let me free to fly. I always come back.

I always come back and realize there is really no where else I would rather be. I always come back because I too need to give you room to change and grow. I always come back because I need to find that one thing I missed, that one place I could not find and that one hill I could not climb.

So, thank you GW for all of you the light and dark. For you cannot really have one without the other. Sparks Dawnbringer and all her friends

Imo, the little ho named Gwen was the downfall. She was sweet and innocent in the beginning, but that wasn't enough. She soon became dissatisfied playing her flute in her spiffy cape and ran off with a rebel Char she met chugging some hunter's ales outside Piken square.

Before long she was being pimped out to the other Char gang members until one day she snapped from the abuse. She vowed revenge and as such seduced the CEO of Arena Net into giving her an expansion affectionately named after her full of painful grinding, bad skills, and contempt.

Well said. When I look back at all the campaigns it was the middle that was the best. Prohpecies was fun, but way too slow and by being slow as it was made it too long. Factions was a bit faster, but I like getting off the starting place quicker and experiencing what the game had. Nightfall is my favorite, but some of the quests are so boring. GWEN was the least I liked.

All GWEN brought was more reputation titles to grind and way more grinding than Nightfall ever had. I could handle having Sunspear and Lightbringer, but the way you get points in GWEN is too slow and repetitive. At least the Remains of Sahlahja runs give you drops and are somewhat quick. I don't like when story lines split either. That was a terrible idea from the start. I never liked having to get reputation to buy armor. GWEN had most of the things I hated, I liked Prophecies though the campaign kept it simple.

Another thing I want to add is that the Lightbringer actually had a point and that was to help you with servants of Abaddon. The only reason people get Norn is for armor or Ursan. The one thing I liked about GWEN was the bandanna and Dragon Gauntlets, but I rather see people in full armor sets. The chaos gloves can go.

Thread fails. If all you like is the european style of fantasy, good for you, but I enjoyed the devs experimenting with new styles with each campaign. 3 campaigns of prophecies-style areas would have gotten exceedingly boring.

Again, creative but I don't think we needed to hear that you're "dumping" Guild Wars for WOW. Just stop playing, it's that simple.

Although Guild Wars 2 will totally pwn WOW.
WOW was actually never mentioned in the entire OP, so I don't know where you got the WoW vs. GW aspect. Anyway, the OP has a very accurate description, only he didn't mention the genital herpes that is EotN.

(On a side note: I'm sorry, but as much as I'm looking forward to it, GW2 is not going to take down WoW. The only real contender is D3.)
